Required Materials:

Blick Art Materials - 650 Ave of Americas, Store 1, New York, NY 10002 (212) 524-9611.

Pencil, ruler, kneaded or plastic eraser, any used CD to use for tracing, 3 - 11"x14" Primed Canvas Boards, Acrylic nylon brushes (not natural hair), plastic pallet or pallet paper, pallet knife,

Paints: Liquitex brand Acrylic paint Titanium White in 4.65 fl oz size. (white is your primer)
The remaining paints need to be in 2 fl oz size:
Subtractive colors: Cyan, Magenta, Yellow and Black.
Additive colors: Red, Green and Blue.
(All paints are "Heavy Body")

The best for color matching are:
Brilliant Blue, Medium Magenta, Cadmium Yellow Medium, Mars Black
Cadmium Red, Light Green Permanent, Cobolt Blue.

Color wheel has both Additive and Subtractive Colors.

Additive Colors (Light & Computer/TV screens)
Red + Green light = Yellow
Red + Blue light appears as magenta
Green + Blue light appears as cyan
Additive mixture of red, green and blue = white light

Subtractive Colors (Paint and printer ink, CMYK)
Magenta + Yellow = Red
Yellow + Cyan = Green
Cyan + Magenta = Blue
Subtractive mixture of cyan, magenta and yellow = black or dk brown.

We will be painting in class in Acrylic paint on Canvas Boards as described earlier in class.

High Dynamic Range Images (HDR) - (Non destructive editing)

The HDR technique blends three or more photographs taken at different exposures or using different filters together to produce a single photograph or image that blurs the lines of reality by then tone mapping the images.
